Description
**Bare Root**
Offered for a very short time in spring, before rest are potted to ensure they continue to be strong and healthy for your gardens. Please plant as soon as possible to allow the roots to expand and establish, and so they can maintain they moisture properly.
All-male variety Asparagus officinalis “Millenium”. Uniform, medium sized spears are green with purple-tips. Ontario growers find that it is very hardy, high yielding, long lasting, and does well in heavy soils where other varieties usually do not do well.
Expect to allow them 1-2 years to establish, deepen their roots and grow larger in our cooler climate before heavy harvesting.
How many plants should I get? Obviously, the amount of room you have in your landscape for planting will play a role in this. But, if space is not an issue, 10-20 plants per person is a good start, planted 9-12 inches apart, and the top junction at least 4″ beneath the soil surface.
